Regarding land ownership and land and soil use, Unicafé has made public the following policies and guidelines:
LAND USE RIGHTS
Unicafé only uses land and properties that it owns in its activities. Likewise, Unicafé values good faith and respect for local communities and their rights to own land in all its activities and operations.
The rights to own and regularly use land must be easily proven through documents and certifications issued by the responsible departments, notaries, property titles, sale certificates, rent contracts or judicial orders..
PROTECTION AND SUSTEINABILITY OF LAND
Unicafé´s use of land as well as the development of its economical activities respects all applicable laws regarding environmental protection. Likewise, it cherishes, respects and encourages the development of local communities and encourages its suppliers to do so, as well.
Unicafé promotes, internally and externally, the responsible and sustainable use of natural resources, including the land.
DIALOGUE AND SOCIOENVIRONMENTAL DEVELOPMENT
Unicafé strives to keep the lines of communication open with local communities so as to investigate and take care of any complaints regarding the use of land which may arise, as well as to promote socioenvironmental development.
Lastly, Unicafé refrains from using, in the development of its economical activities, land which is a product of deforestation, usucaption or which is otherwise irregular according to the law..

Unicafé will disseminate this internal policy among its employees, partners and suppliers and will also make it available to the general public, along with its other policies and codes of conduct, on its official website: http://www.unicafe.com.br, making its guidelines public and its relations more transparent.
